Featured Projects
On-call Traffic Engineering (2016 till present)
ADVANTEC has provided the City of Newport Beach with on-call professional traffic engineering services on an “As-Needed” for the following:
Provide full plans, specifications, and estimates (PS&E) for Traffic/Transportation/ITS engineering projects
Prepare or review traffic and transportation planning studies
Other engineering-related tasks
Caltrans SR-91 MultiAsset
ADVANTEC is a member of the TranSystems team for the SR-91 Multi-Asset Projects as part of the Caltrans D12 On-Call Contract. ADVANTEC provided electrical and ITS engineering for EA0R312 design support in the preparation of the Caltrans Project Approval & Environmental Document (PA&ED) phase during Task Order No. 1, and the Plans, Specifications & Estimates (PS&E) phase under Task Order No. 2. In addition to roadway improvements (e.g., pavement rehabilitation, drainage, overhead sign structures), the project also proposes to improve various TMS elements along the corridor. Details of the work phases completed include both the preliminary design and cost estimates, and the preparation of final design PS&E for the electrical/TMS elements that are primarily comprised of CCTV camera upgrades, switch upgrades at the controller cabinets, fiber optic communication conduit improvements, and video detection system. The task orders are being successfully delivered to Caltrans District 12 on an accelerated schedule in order to coincide with OCTA projects that were already in the final design phase so the construction of the projects occurs concurrently.
Anaheim CMS
Project to upgrade 12 existing changeable message signs which help communicate and navigate visitors to the Anaheim Resort Area. ADVANTEC prepared the specifications and engineer’s estimates (PS&E), coordinated a structural analysis of the existing infrastructure, upgraded the sign structures with new signs, and connected the new system to the existing infrastructure. Project was constructed and installed with zero RFIs.
Signing and Striping Project for the City’s 5 Year Road Rehabilitation Corridor Project
It was the City’s goal to have Signing & Striping design plans prepared before the first phase of a multi-year road rehabilitation program began. The signing & striping plans are to assist the contractor to reestablish the striping as it was before, or better, during the construction rehab. Signing & Striping plans were prepared by ADVANTEC for the first phase. ADVANTEC utilized the most recent version of the Caltrans Standard Plans and Specifications, as well as, the California Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (CA MUTCD) to ensure the striping guidelines are enforced.
