Project Description

As part of the Program for Arterial System Synchronization (PASS) ADVANTEC was selected by the Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC) to provide technical assistance to Bay Area agencies to help improve the safe and efficient operation of traffic signal systems on regional significant corridors.  MTC has assigned three projects to ADVANTEC to develop weekday and weekend peak hour timing plans. The projects included: 

  • State Route 82 (El Camino Real) in Santa Clara County, containing 59 intersections, operated by Caltrans District 4.

  • 14th Street, Oak Street, and 98th Avenue in the City of Oakland (41 signals)

  • East Grand Avenue, Airport Blvd, South Airport Blvd, and Chestnut/Westborough in the City of South San Francisco (20 signals)

  • El Camino Real, in San Mateo County, operated by Caltrans District 4 (18 signals).
